60% give you 20% of the benefit.
This sounds pretty good too! Just 60% insteady of 80%! Don’t. Celebrate. Yet.
The last 20% give you ….. -20%.
Oh …. you mean …. ?
Yes, Sherlock. 20% of the customers, products, employees, friends …. are COSTING you money, time, love, joy, etc. They’re TOXIC.

These are not people who are just …. Meh.
This is not 80/20, this is 20/120. This 20% is killing you, and will never, EVER change for the better. And you must get rid of them NOW. No kid gloves.
Do them in, before they do you.
80/20 tells you when the majority are giving you …. just barely more value than they take. Minimizing your exposure to the 80% is wise, but not urgent.
20/120 says some of that 80% is actually HARMING you, and this IS urgent.
Stop your exposure to them immediately, for an IMMEDIATE improvement in your situation. End the relationship, discontinue the product, fire the employee, ditch the customer, leave the market, scrap the car, leave town.
Wisdom is recognizing when you are in 80/20 …. and when you’re in 20/120.
