Somehow I did get some sleep on the flight.
When you quit running from Self-Doubt, it doesn’t disappear …
But I was groggy enough on arrival at Heathrow that I misplaced my prized Cowichan sweater in baggage claim. So now I was terrified, groggy, AND annoyed with myself.
But if you turn and face it …
I didn’t chicken out and fly back to Toronto. I found my way to the coach station and got on the coach to Cranfield.
You find it’s just a scary monster with no teeth ….
My wife and daughters rejoined me 6 weeks later. Together we embarked on what then seemed a huge adventure.
And The Creator starts to line things up for you …
A year later, I had a new engineering degree, and a job in a line of work that really excited me.
And in time, you’ll be able to look back in amazement at what you’ve done …
Five years after that, I was helping design the world’s largest airliner, and travelling regularly to Toulouse, Bremen and Charleroi.
And you can face it again …
Five years after THAT, I went freelance. Doubled our income, allowing us to discharge the mortgage on THAT house in just 12 years.
And again …
We raised our girls, trekked in southern England and Wales, holidayed in France, skiied in Germany, visited friends in Singapore and Thailand …
And you can use it as a springboard to further progress ….
After 20 years in the UK, we returned to Canada. I switched to copywriting, and who knows what next?
Even though it’s still scary ….
