I’m falling down the web3 rabbit hole - here’s what I’ve learned so far …
First saw the string “web3” when Greg Isenberg was interviewed in a #ship30for30 webinar.
Immediately kept my ear to the ground for clues as to what the “web3 thing” was.
Here’s what I’ve gleaned so far:
1️⃣ People are thinking up the craziest of ideas.
And the enthusiasm out there is huge. It really is the Wild West.
Nobody really knows what’s going on, they just know it’s damn exciting.
The quality of ideas is outstanding.
2️⃣ Crypto, DeFi, DAO, blockchain, NFT’s, social tokens ….
They’re all part of web3.
3️⃣ The key word is: Decentralization.
No central banks, no governments, no police, no army, no CIA, FBI, NSA ….
Just human beings doing intellectual and emotional work to bring as much value to each other as they can muster.
4️⃣ You’re a Winner in web3 if ….
If you have a skill that you can enthusiastically bring to the table, for the benefit of everyone in the network.
5️⃣ You’re a Loser in web3 if ….
You fear liberty and love wielding power over the weaker.
6️⃣ There are some cool resources out there with which to educate yourself.
Here are the ones I know. (Have yet to explore them fully myself). Please reply with any you think I’ve missed.
