Turn the page into one giant testimonial
I stumbled across this trick. An entrepreneur in the decluttering space asked me for a sales page to drive to a warm email list. To get into her customers’ heads, I asked to interview some of her paying community members.
Only tool needed: Zoom
Interview happy customers (and record them)
I zoomed with four of her most loyal customers. They gushed about her. About the problems they’d had, how she’d come alongside them, coached them, given them useful tricks and insights. About how transformed their lives were NOW. As I reviewed the zoom recordings, I realized most of the sales copy was staring me in the face.
NOBODY sells better than happy customers.
Transcribe-copy-paste those bits into your sales page
I picked the two most animated interviewees, and homed in on the glowing bits: The benefits brought them by the product, before/after comparisons, and humourous personal anecdotes. I trimmed down the audio tracks, and transcribed them (I use Temi) for a whopping $10. These I pasted straight into the page, and condensed them down.
50% of the page copy right there. DONE.
Keep the rest of the copy conversational
What I already had, came from conversations. So I kept the rest of it that way. Giving the reader the sense of being part of one loooong conversation. People are really hungry for that.
Result? A sales page converting at 21%.
